Eleven Haskell High School students competed in the 2014 Regional UIL Meet, held at Abilene Christian University on Saturday, May 3rd. HHS was one of 46 schools who had students advance from their Districts, representing a Region stretched geographically as far as Meridian to Lindsay. Students competing from Haskell were: Madison Homeyer (Sr.) in Calculator and Mathematics, Zachary Tatum (Sr.) in Spelling and Social Studies, JT Schmegner (Sr.) in Calculator and Mathematics, Aaron Waggoner (Sr.) in Mathematics, April Brown (Sr.) in Spelling, Alannah Luce (Jr.) in Ready Writing, Reagan Hadaway (Jr.) in Calculator, Kade Colley (Jr.) in Mathematics, Tanya Steele (Jr.) in Persuasive Speaking, Payton Thomas (Fr.) in Spelling, and Ashlyn Bevel (Fr.) in Calculator. Zachary Tatum placed 5th overall in Social Studies.
Madison Homeyer won 1st overall in both Calculator and Mathematics, which qualifies her for the State UIL Meet to be held at the University of Texas on May 19-21.
